Man it has been over a year since I have blogged. I have been busy with a new website and a project I am hoping to launch by the end of the year. I have also been sharing on instagram more but I think I will start trying to post here a bit more. I have done a lot of projects and have a bunch in the works. To start catching up I think I will post a photo I did at my parents place in Minersville. They have an old shed in their back yard and I wanted to try to light paint something at it and this idea came to me as we were driving up from Saint George. As far as light painting goes it is pretty basic. I used a flashlight to paint the purple on to the building and then back lit myself with two speedlights with green gels. It was a ton of fun and it turned out pretty much how I imagined.

I don't light paint as much anymore but I still love it. Since it had been a long time some friends, my wife, and I went out on Monday to stretch the old light painting muscles. Light painting is always a little slow at first but once we got in the groove we had a good time and ended up with some good pictures. There is a lot you can do in the dark with some LED lights and a long exposure. I suggest you try it out some time and if you are ever down in Saint George give me a call, and lets go make some cool pictures.

Dance is something I have been working on for a little while now and it is a challenge. I started my dance series with my wife as the first model a couple years ago and have been working on it ever since. It is a ton of fun. Here are a couple from a few weeks back up at Pine Valley Utah. I have some fun ideas for more dance that I can't wait to do so check back soon.

Well I haven't posted since February and I have a list of about 20 things to post about. So here is the first of many. These are from a senior/prom shoot I did for my sister in-law. While out exploring for locations for a product shoot my wife and I found this amazing little meadow near Willow Flats and decided we would shoot our products there but also that we would shoot Jennas portraits there as well. I think they turned out well and the location was amazing.

I made a light stencil! I have been wanting to make one of these since last year and never got around to it. We have some light painting portraits to shoot on Tuesday and I thought it would be a good tool for them. To test it out I made some pterodactyls and did a few shots in the drive way. It is pretty cool. There are a lot of possibilities with a stencil and I am excited to make some pictures with it. If you want to know how to make one there are quite a few "how to" videos out there.
